Chiny zdecydowanie przewodzą w globalnym wyścigu patentowym na generatywną sztuczną inteligencję, znacznie wyprzedzając swoich konkurentów – wynika z najnowszego raportu Światowej Organizacji Własności Intelektualnej (WIPO).

Chiny dominują na globalnym rynku patentów związanych z generatywną sztuczną inteligencją (AI), według najnowszego raportu Światowej Organizacji Własności Intelektualnej (WIPO). W ciągu ostatniej dekady Chiny złożyły sześciokrotnie więcej wniosków patentowych niż jakikolwiek inny kraj, co potwierdzają dane opublikowane w środę przez ONZ.

Dynamiczny rozwój patentów

Generatywna sztuczna inteligencja, która umożliwia tworzenie tekstu, obrazów, kodu komputerowego, a nawet muzyki na podstawie istniejących danych, przeżywa eksplozję innowacji. W ciągu ostatnich dziesięciu lat złożono ponad 50 000 wniosków patentowych dotyczących tej technologii, co podkreśla WIPO, organizacja nadzorująca międzynarodowy system uznawania patentów.

Chińska dominacja

W 2023 roku złożono jedną czwartą wszystkich wniosków patentowych związanych z generatywną AI. Christopher Harrison, kierownik ds. analityki patentowej WIPO, zauważa, że jest to dynamicznie rozwijający się obszar, z potencjałem do dalszego wzrostu.

Chińskie firmy złożyły ponad 38 000 wniosków patentowych w latach 2014-2023, podczas gdy Stany Zjednoczone zajęły drugie miejsce z 6276 zgłoszeniami. Korea Południowa, Japonia i Indie również znalazły się w czołówce, przy czym Indie odnotowały najszybszy wzrost liczby patentów.

Liderzy innowacji

Wśród czołowych firm zgłaszających patenty znalazły się chińskie ByteDance, właściciel TikTok, Alibaba Group oraz Microsoft, który wspiera OpenAI – twórcę ChatGPT. Generatywna AI znajduje zastosowanie w wielu sektorach, od autonomicznej jazdy, przez publikowanie, po zarządzanie dokumentami, co ilustruje szeroki zakres innowacji zgłaszanych przez chińskie firmy.

Potencjał transformacyjny generatywnej AI

Harrison z WIPO podkreśla, że generatywna AI ma potencjał do przekształcenia wielu sektorów gospodarki, takich jak nauka, wydawnictwa, transport czy bezpieczeństwo. Szczególnie w sektorze naukowym, cząsteczki stworzone przez generatywną AI mogą przyspieszyć rozwój nowych leków.

WIPO przewiduje kolejną falę zgłoszeń patentowych w najbliższej przyszłości i planuje opublikować przyszłe aktualizacje danych, wykorzystując generatywną AI do zilustrowania tego trendu.
